AIM:
This questionnaire is part of a larger study into the factors contributing towards a successful human dog bond. This particular section of the study is aimed at identifying how much additional time commitment is involved on the part of dog owners and to gain information about the financial commitments involved in dog ownership. We hope to gain insight into the commitments involved in dog ownership which can be used to help inform new or potential owners and help them ensure they make an informed decision about whether acquiring a new dog is right for them.
METHOD:
Participants will be asked in section A to estimate the additional time they spend on the care of their dog, which does not relate to direct contact with their dog (which has been covered in our previous surveys). In section B you are asked to complete a number of questions relating to the financial costs associated with dog ownership.
CONFIDENTIALITY:
None of the questions asked relate to your name or address and therefore the responses given will remain anonymous. All the data collected will be analysed within the University of Lincoln and will remain strictly confidential. Participation in the survey is on a voluntary basis only.
RESULTS:
If you would like to recieve a summary of the results you are entitled to do so. This can be requested at the end of the survey. We will require your name and e-mail address so that we can send you the report. These details will be kept seperate from your questionnaire reponses to preserve your anonymity.
